Your creature sighting in your own words: “Hello, My name is Turner. The 'events' listed happened in August-September of 2017 with the actual 'sighting' happening later. I don't know if you would call this a 'cryptid' encounter as this creature was more 'insectoid' & not LARGE like so many others but still 8 inches long, scary with alien intelligence & speed...
So from the beginning, We live in remote Kentucky in the appalachian foothills of SE KY on the side of steep bluff property bordering Daniel Boone National Forest...During Mid-August 2017 ALL our outside cats started behaving abnormal. Where usually they sprawl out & sleep at various areas on the spacious back porch & receive food there at this time they were having none of that and demanded to be fed at the FRONT door only. They also would start sleeping at the top of the driveway, out in the open & not EVEN on the front porch. Perplexed I tried to find the cause but nothing popped up or could be easily figured. Most possibilities were eliminated. I just figured when the culprit is found out then I'll know...Little did I know...
During this time sometimes at night I would hear what sounded like one of our cats on the roof (metal) but also seemed strange that it almost seemed like it was at the END of the house not on the roof, Our bedroom was at this end. Also it seemed more like 'ticking' like a hyper-energetic carpenter was 'tapping' a nail on the side of the hose near the roof but softly, not loudly...
THEN about beginning of Septembet Wife & I went grocery shopping & when coming back I opened the door & out of the corner of my eye I saw what I thought was a large caterpillar on the bottom of the door that was in view just for a brief micro-second then disappeared. I told my Wife that I had just seen a large juicy 'stink-peed' & will have to put groceries down on the nearby couch & deal with it. Sometimes we get 'stink-peeds' in the house & their self-defense mechanism is a rancid odor let off. Year before we had one that had got smashed under a throw rug & we could not find the source for quite awhile...
HOWEVER, the search revealed NOTHING...I could not believe a 'peed' had moved that fast as I was pushing/kicking furniture out of the way. after 20 minutes I gave up. I did not get focus on it but I knew it was larger than most we had seen...
Now forward to September 5th 2017 I had been working all day & was tired but before coming inside I remembered that I still had out Honda CR-V on a charger so went to the opposite side of the house to disconnect it. Walking on the south side of the house toward the end we have a motorcycle shed canted somewhat & my wife had a frog pond made from a kids pool. As I breached the end of the house I walked a little further to see if there were any frogs or tadpoles. I should state NOW that I was in full view of the 'creature' and was being observed...
I looked about studying the frog pond for 10-15 seconds then went to turn back TOWARDS the house where the extension cord was plugged in. Now pay close attention! As I WAS TURNING I started hearing that 'ticking' which was louder outside & it was a clear & quiet day. As I turned I 'pulled focus' on the creature which KNEW THAT I WAS ABOUT TO SEE IT!.. It then issued an aggressive warning stance lifting it's two FRONT LEGS off the siding of the house & swinging them around whilst opening it's front pincers wide then closing as if saying "Don't try ANYTHING!". It seemed quite upset that it had been seen...
As I take all this in that happened in seconds it raced to the other side of the house where I had just come from running parallel along the siding as fast as a mouse 'nailgunning' its legs INTO the siding making that ticking noise which for a brief second all ran together. The body was oscillating left-right so fast like a piant shaker when it ran. Nearing the end of the house it jumped a good 5 inches off the siding landing on the ground on its back & it quickly corrected & righted itself before running into a crack YOU WOULD NOT THINK IT WOULD FIT underneath the house!!
As you can imagine MUCH was quickly deduced by me in seconds after, the cats, the 'peed' in the house, the 'ticking' at night. I immediately notified my wife & then spent HOURS sealing every possible way in from underneath around electricals or pipes of any kind...
After this 'encounter' things went back to normal in a few days & I have not seen it again luckily. It was sneaky, sinister & had intelligence as it knew EXACTLY how to get out of the house. It also made NO NOISE outside until it KNEW I was going to see it. Horrifying was that all that 'ticking' in the night was this creature running about & the cats who would normally would be on ANYTHING smaller than them were having NOTHING to do with it.
Because it had 'leered' at me I decided to name it the 'Langolier'...No relation to the movie...This was small yes but serious scary & very fast I am sure it could probably have outran me...I have seen all kinds of critters & this is not a natural 'being' of this planet.
The next day while it was 'fresh' in my mind I made a 3D Model 'sketch' in a program called Nendo. I am giving links to where the three images are uploaded. They are mostly accurate but I never saw the eyes so was just guessing there, could've had many or might've been a cyclops. Also The front pincer should've been a bit bigger & the tail spike probably twice the length, overall about 8" & beefy for an 'insectoid', I saw the armored underbelly when it landed upside-down after jumping off the siding...”
