“Serpent In Red Cedar Lake”

Fort Atkinson, WI- Red Cedar Lake near Fort Atkinson is again agitated by a monster who has lain dormant through the cold months. Several Germans were surprised while looking at what they supposed was a large stub sticking several feet above the water to see a mud turtle, which climbed upon the supposed stub to sun itself, disappear within a capacious mouth. William Ward lost five valuable sheep by the visit of the serpent. Their bodies were found in the mud partly devoured.
